It’s hard to follow a successful debut album, but Brighton’s As It Is have done it in a smart way: they’ve tweaked their sound to a mature offering, but haven’t lost any of the catchy characteristics that made them popular in the first place. ‘okay.’ is full of big hitting pop-rock tunes and that’s fine with me.

Read the whole review at thePunkSite and check where I’ve put this on the 2017 Album Leaderboard. I listed ‘Austen’ on the Best of January 2017 playlist, you can check out what else I put on there by clicking here.

The pop-punk theme of Never Happy Ever After has been moved aside side in favour of straight-up pop-rock on okay., with the only real tie to pop-punk being Patty Walters’ nasally American vocals which usually go hand in hand with the genre. Vocals aside though, okay. is more aligned to the likes of All Time Low, and it really succeeds.
