This was my first visit to Birmingham’s Mama Roux’s and there was one hell of a line-up waiting for me. The venue itself is a quaint, quirky place and the sound quality was excellent – I certainly won’t think twice about going back for more gigs. The bands were just as good – opening with one of this year’s most exciting British acts Casey, and closing out with the atmospheric brilliance of Being as an Ocean. Only Capsize let the side down, you can read more about that in the full review at Punktastic.

The venue plunges into to darkness as Being as an Ocean take to the stage, the performance area lit only by purple spotlights, projecting the band’s shadows across the room.
