8/10: Noisy Pots

This is why The Great Escape is unrivalled in terms of musical diversity and intrigue. No sooner had I finished watching the alt-rock genius of Press to Meco, I was stood in the foyer of a community centre watching three chaps from Prague cover Missy Elliot on saucepans, pots, buckets, bits of plastic and various electronic devices.

If might sound like just a gimmick, but Noisy Pots are the real deal. Yes they have a percussion section made up of left over items from the back of your shed, but they put these unusual items to extremely effective use. When combined with fully live samples, synths, keyboards and the odd vocal line, the band create some truly unique sounds that you can’t help but admire. A fantastic act that is well worth checking out.
