There’s been a decent batch of British alt-rock bands emerging this year and here’s another one. Witterquick are helped by having a fantastic vocalist who’s able to instill the emotional connection in his vocal melodies that are sometimes lacking from this pop-oriented area of the market. This is an excellent EP and one that I hope gives the band the popularity it deserves.

‘The Road’ is more sedate, dialling back on the pop hooks in favour of a rich, emotional ambience. Its clever melodic structure and calm vocals provides an atmosphere that’s touching and compelling, helping it to stand out as one of the EP’s highlights.
