Taking a well deserved placed in my top 3 is Black Peaks, from Brighton. Sometimes when you see a band live you can completely forget your surroundings, it’s that captivating an experience. That sentiment definitely applies to Black Peaks. Their blend of rock, hardcore, math and pure energy really comes into its own in a live setting and having already seen them at The Great Escape earlier in the year, and again recently when they slayed the stage at Y Not Festival in Derbyshire, I still can’t wait to do it all over again.

The band will have their first full-length album ready soon and I really hope it captures their ferocity in a live environment. If they can manage that, it will be one hell of a record.
