Next up on the countdown is The Fall of Troy. The band’s second album Doppelganger was a beast of a record and the one that put them on the map, with its complex guitar work, frantic vocals and chaotic drumming. Follow-up effort Manipulator dampened the insanity from Doppleganger but was no less impressively musically. For me the records that followed Manipulator were too unfocused to rival the brilliance of the aforementioned releases and in 2010 the band split up to pursue other musical endeavors.
Having been confirmed for Hevy Fest, The Fall of Troy announced that they’d be playing Doppelganger in full at the festival, making this a must-see set from a band that were one of the most exciting acts in the scene in the mid to late 2000s.
